Sequencer" was started during the summer of 1975 shortly after the release of Electronic Realizations for Rock Orchestra. House of Music, where the first Synergy album had been recorded, had been a 16 track facility. During the summer of 1975 they went through a major upgrade to 24 tracks with a new MCI JH-500 console and JH-24, 2 inch analog tape machine with dbx noise reduction

Sequencer, released in May 1996, is the second full-length album by the Swedish musical group Covenant. In the USA, the album was released in 1997 on the 21st Circuitry label, and again in July 1999 on Metropolis Records. These releases both combine the original Sequencer album (minus "Luminal"), with the Stalker CD single, separated by an extra half-minute of silence after "Flux".

Sequencer is the second SYNERGY project. The album was recorded in late 1975 and early 1976 after composer/producer Larry Fast had returned to the US from working in Europe with the progressive band Nektar. Improvements in electronic instruments and recording technology made for an even more dynamic recording than was possible a year earlier. Most of the album was composed by Larry Fast, but several pieces from other writers are featured.

While Synergy's second album, Sequencer, isn't quite as startling as their debut, it remains an intriguing, unpredictable collection of electronic instrumentals. Again, the sounds and technology occasionally sound a little dated, but the ideas remain fresh.
