The Roots - Phrenology mp3 album

The Roots - Phrenology - The Roots - (Phrenology album) The Roots - Phrenology. Full Album the roots.

Features Song Lyrics for The Roots's Phrenology album.

Phrenology is the fifth studio album by American hip hop band The Roots, released November 26, 2002, on MCA Records. Recording sessions for the album took place during June 2000 to September 2002. It was primarily produced by members of the band and features contributions from hip hop and neo soul artists such as Cody ChesnuTT, Musiq Soulchild, Talib Kweli, and Jill Scott.

When they first stepped out in the mid-90s, The Roots were regarded by many as an interesting but quaint novelty. Now live musical accompaniment is becoming increasingly prevalent- The Neptunes donned a backing band for NER D- and while political consciousness is still an important component of hip-hop, it's hardly unique, and no longer en vogue in an increasingly conservative cultural climate.

The Roots released Phrenology (named after the pseudoscience of the same name) in 2002. Despite not charting as high as Things Fall Apart, reaching a peak of No. 28 on the charts, Phrenology was commercially successful, being certified gold, and earning a Grammy nomination for Best Rap Album. At the time, however, there came rumors that the Roots were losing interest in their signing with MC. .The Roots have been featured in four movies: Dave Chappelle's Block Party, both performing album songs and playing as a backing band for other artists; Spike Lee's Bamboozled; Marc Levin's Brooklyn Babylon, in which Black Thought plays the protagonist, Solomon, and former band member Rahzel narrates; and Chasing Liberty, starring Mandy Moore.

Phrenology is the fifth studio album by The Roots, released on November 26, 2002 through MCA Records. Featuring Amiri Baraka, Cody ChesnuTT, D’Angelo & 6 more. Producers Cody ChesnuTT, DJ Scratch, Grand Wizzards & 10 more. Writers Amiri Baraka, Ben Kenney, Black Thought & 19 more. Additional Vocals Alicia Keys, Hope Wilson & Tracey Moore.

On Phrenology, they have 6 members. Only one is a rapper, and only one is a DJ. Apart from this, they've got a guitarist, a keyboard player, a drummer, and a bassist. Any assumption that all of them suck at their respective instruments and wouldn't last a day in a rock band is quelled by the fact that their guitarist, Ben Kenney, now plays bass full-time for Incubus. It's also proved wrong by their live shows, featuring lengthy virtuotic solo spots for each member. If you want to know more about this band, Phrenology is where you want to be. It's not The Roots' best album - that honour goes to Things Fall Apart - but it serves as the best introduction to their work; it's their most commercially friendly, punchy, instantly memorable album. That, and it's got one of the most spectacularly attention-grabbing opening sequences ever. Rock You is a fairly typical album opener - it's hard, catchy, and it hits big.

This album experiments with multiple areas of hip hop (jazz, R&B, some rock) and does so to a great deal of success. This may to some make the album feel disjointed, but The Roots are capable of taking multiple different areas and spin them within their style and allow the listener to remember that the music is coming from them. Perhaps not as successfully crafted as Things Fall Apart, this is still a strong follow-up.
