Columbia released Rose’s first solo album, Tim Rose, in 1967. A mixture of originals and cover tunes, the album features a band of crack studio musicians, including bassist Felix Pappalardi, later the producer of Cream, and drummer Bernard Purdie. Writing in American Troubadours: Groundbreaking Singer-Songwriters of the ’60s, Mark Brend called Tim Rose an intense, forceful folk-rock milestone on which Rose’s reputation stands. Rose came to the United Kingdom for a series of concerts; in London, he recorded a single, Long-Haired Boy, which is considered one of the first songs about groupies as well as one of Rose’s best tunes. In concert, Rose was backed by drummer John Bonham, whose exceptional work inspired guitarist Jimmy Page to invite him to join the New Yardbirds; soon thereafter, the New Yardbirds became Led Zeppelin.
Tim Rose's November 1967 self-titled debut album "Tim Rose" did bugger all business chart-wise - but cast a huge shadow then and ever since. Propelled by his gritty strangulated 'I gargle gravel for breakfast' vocals - (he sounds like the love child of John Kay from Steppenwolf and David Clayton-Thomas from Blood, Sweat & Tears) - the pre-LP 7" single "Hey Joe (You Shot Your Woman Down)" from June 1966 clocked up covers by Love, The Byrds and of course most famously by Jimi Hendrix - the song practically. More shadows came from the single released the same month as the album - November 1967 for "Come Away, Melinda" - an Anti-Vietnam War anthem written by Fred Hellerman of The Weavers with Francis Minkoff.

It's ready to be released, but we takin' it a step farther- A visual album for the funk gods. If we do not reach it- I'll be paying out of pocket and it could delay the finish and release of this movie for as much as a year. As long as it takes me to find a loan for the rest. That being said, The music album is releasing regardless of movie circumstances. Whatever reward tier you choose- you will receive- but the movie screenings and such will be delayed until we find the money.
