Alley Cat", also known as "Alleycat" and "The Alley Cat," is a popular instrumental song made most famous by the Danish pianist and composer Bent Fabric, released in 1962. Fabric (born Bent Fabricius-Bjerre) wrote the tune under the pseudonym Frank Björn. The song was originally released under the Danish title "Omkring et flygel," which means "Around a Piano.

The Rose Garden was an American folk rock band from Los Angeles, California, which was active in 1967 and 1968. They are most remember for their hit single, "Next Plane to London". The band formed from a band known as The Blokes which was founded in 1964 and would cover much of The Byrds work in its later years. By 1967, the group's full lineup was complete and they became known as The Rose Garden. The album includes their Top 20 hit "Next Plane to London". The band was heavily influenced by The Byrds and even has two Gene Clark compositions, "Till Today" and "Long Time", included on the album. They would emulate The Byrds style through vocal harmony and 12-string guitar blending. The group also recorded "Rider", which was first recorded by The Byrds in 1966, but not yet released. The only original composition was "Flower Town".

Gene Clark was involved with The Rose Garden after leaving The Byrds and furnished them with an acetate of songs to choose from for their self-titled album.
