We seemed to get quite good at it and over about three years we started getting bookings. As Hurricane we played a lot of country pub gigs and country shows in Suffolk. Towards the end of my time with them we were joined by Mark Lees on drums and singing. You never really know when they're getting over the top. But it was great fun. I apologise if I offended anyone. Oh and great to see Dr Philip Crummy, in the audience, Colchester's long-serving archaeology supremo, who once gave up his Sunday morning just to teach me all about the Roman Wall.

The name Cleaners from Venus has popped up a few times in my search for DIY bedroom pop but sadly I've never had the chance to hear them until I saw this LP in my local record store. This LP was a great access point to Cleaners from Venus' music, full of sunny lofi pop gems that were really is on par with the DIY artwork that accompanied the original releases. If you are curious to hear this band you won't be disappointed!
